Project Mastery
Project Mastery is part of the S1 momentum methodology and covers project wide aspects of each of the phases of the project lifecycle. As such, they represent the themes that glue together the phases of the project lifecycle to reinforce the success of the project. The various themes are:
Project Management
The overall planning and management function of the project. This theme entails managing the critical success factors behind the project (stakeholders, business benefits, work and schedule, resources, scope, risk and the delivery) as well as setting up and monitoring the various project phases, milestones and tasks.
Transition Management
No project would be successful without due consideration managing the change, that is, Transition Management. Transition, in this sense, covers change management, business benefits, knowledge transfer (training and development) as well as project communications.
Integration Management
Integration Management ties together the integration within the system across various functions of the business as well as across technology to other platforms. This may also include working with third party vendors to ensure system integrity across the complete solution.
Technical Infrastructure
The Technical Infrastructure theme ensures that the appropriate technical architecture is in place when needed during the course of the project. It covers not only the production environment but also any interim environments for development, testing, training and data migration.
Programme Management
Programme Management encompasses the management of multiple projects and it involves establishing a Project Management Office to oversee the project interdependencies and communications across the projects. Overall, this is a critical function that enables the projects to communicate using the same language.
