Project Advisory

Project Advisory is part of the S1 momentum methodology and offers a high level independent service before, during and after the project. It is treated as a service that is external to the day to day of the project in order to provide greater insight into the aims and outcomes of the project. The 3 key areas of the methodology are:

Qualify

To Qualify the strategic alignment of the project to the objectives of the business is critical as it matches the needs of the business with the potential solution on offer. Without it, there is a risk of a running a project that is strategically flawed and not in line with the business. As such, to Qualify a project involves system selection, benchmarking and business strategy alignment.

Quality Assurance

Quality Assurance is an interim review of the project to highlight the aspects of the project that are working as it should be as well as potential areas for improvement. The review takes places at the beginning of the project, directly after the design, and prior to go live. This provides a framework for measuring project progress from the start to the finish. Traditionally, too many project reviews are carried out midway through the project when it is difficult to correct the problem areas.

Review

The Review at the end of the project takes place when the project team has disbanded and the new system is part of the day to day operations of the business. Typically, reviews of this nature look at how the business and the system are aligned. For example, how changes to the business are being managed in the system, along with process updates and training for new staff etc.
